There are many observations that appear to be unexplainable by modern theory, such as the existence of dark matter and energy. For example, many feel that Quantum Theory is the only one that gives a reasonable explanation of the double slit experiment by assuming that waves can exhibit particle-like properties while particles can exhibit wave-like ones. However, that is not consistent with how most of us perceive our observable world and opposes classical or Newtonian Physics.
