About Brian Tarquin
Multi Emmy Award winning composer/guitarist Brian Tarquin is an established top rate TVcomposer/recording artist and owner of Jungle Room Studios. In 2002, 2003 and 2005 he won anEmmy for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition for a Drama Series and hasbeen nominated for an Emmy 6 times. In 2006 SESAC honored him with the Network TelevisionPerformance Award. Tarquin first graced the Top 20 Billboard Charts back in 1997 with the commercialrelease: This is Acid Jazz, Vol. 2 on Instinct Records, followed by several solo jazz albums, which chartedTop 10 at Contemporary Jazz Radio in the late 90s. From 1996 to 2001, Brian recorded four solo albums,Ghost Dance, Last Kiss Goodbye, Soft Touch and High Life and has appeared in over 32 releases, sellingover 140,000 records in his career.In 2014, Tarquin produced, engineered and composed Guitars For Wounded Warriors, which showcasesTarquins guitar prowess along side such world-class shredders as, Steve Morse, Billy Sheehan, Gary Hoey,Bumblefoot (Gun n Roses), Reb Beach (Whitesnake), Hal Lindes (Dire Straits), Chris Poland (Megadeth)and Chuck Loeb. The album features exclusively released tracks inspired by those military soldiers whofought for our country. Tarquin also produced and engineered bassist Randy Covens last record,Nu Groove featuring Leslie West in 2010.Some of his accomplishments include, custom-composing music for MTV, Extra, TMZ, CSI, ABCs AllMy Children, Alias and the Keanu Reeves film, The Watcher (see list of credits attached). For many years,he has engineered/produced/composed for such music production companies as ABC-TVs 5th Floor Music,First Com, Sonoton, Megatrax, One Music and Zomba Music. In fact, Brian composed and produced thesuccessful Megatrax series, Megabeats. In 1998, he formed the rock/electronica band, Asphalt Jungle,which composed the MTV Road Rules theme, "Witchcraft and Tekken.In 2006, Tarquin opened his own boutique record label called BHP MUSIC/GUITAR TRAX, specializingin instrumental guitar music. The label released the Guitar Master Series featuring guitar legends: Jeff Beck,BB King, Santana, Jimmy Page, Joe Satriani, Zakk Wylde, Stanley Clarke, Billy Sheehan and many others.The releases, which were composed, compiled and produced by Tarquin, received rave reviews from GuitarPlayer, Guitar World and Vintage Guitar Magazines. BHP Music also released, Bob Marley Remixed, whichexplored Marley territory with electronic grooves intertwined with original Marley vocals that garneredpraised by the editor-in-chief of Mix Magazine.In 2012 Tarquin formed TV Film Trax, Inc. a diverse music catalog consisting over 100 CDs to date. Thelibrary is very unique in the sense that it contains tracks from iconic guitarists like Billy Sheehan, SteveMorse, Leslie West, Frank Gambale, Gary Hoey, Hal Lindes and Chris Poland The catalog also containsClassic Rock covers of bands like Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan and ZZTop. The library also contains many different genres including vocals, promos, film trailers, and variousstyles of orchestral underscore.Tarquin is also an award-winning author of the 2014 USA Best Book Winner Award in Performing Arts:Music for Guitar Encyclopedia (Allworth Press) and the 2014 USA Best Book Finalist Award in Business:Reference for Insiders Guide To Music Licensing (Allworth Press). He has also has written RecordingTechniques of the Guitar Masters (Cengage Publishing) featuring interviews with Steve Vai, Joe Satriani,Eric Johnson, Zakk Wylde, Ted Nugent, Billy Sheehan, Larry Carlton, Stanley Clarke, Steve Morse and JeffBecka total of 30 outstanding players in all. Other books include, Stomp On This: The Guitar PedalEffects Guidebook (Cengage Publishing) and Insiders Guide to Home Recording (Allworth Press). Tarquinand has been a featured music writer for such national magazines as EQ, Mix, Guitar Player, Premier Guitar,Recording & Music Connection.And if thats not enough Tarquin has a radio show called Guitar Trax on WFIT 89.5FM on the FloridaSpace Coast.
