When we are quiet, our inner experiences cry out: There must be more. Even though uncomfortable, they point to unrealized possibilities because God designed us for Himself. These echoes are quiet enough to be drowned out for a time in the hustle and bustle of daily life. They are loud enough, though, to persistently pop up at inconvenient times, even if we attempt to suppress or numb the ache by substituting external activities. When we are still, our longing hearts nod their silent agreement. JESUS Is Enough! Nothing else will satisfy.Jesus often conveys the deepest truths with simple, earthy examples, like the analogy of a fruitful grapevine abiding in the marvelous sufficiency of the true Vine in John 15. Like the last whispered words of a dear friend on his death bed, Jesus touches on answers to these universal yearnings. There must be more! Yes, and More came. He now has a face and a name. Jesus! Jesus came from His Father's side and His life draws out similar yearnings in responsive hearts. Are we, however, in touch with these inner yearnings? My musings from John 15 in JESUS Is Enough! spill out of long, personal time soaking in John 15 as I have wrestled with God on my Christian journey. I wrote JESUS Is Enough! for me, to call me out from the rush of everyday life to spend leisurely time alone with Jesus. Will you join this quest to experience Jesus as our true vine in John 15?
