The great majority of Protestant, Evangelical Christians, if asked what the heart of the Gospel is would reply along the lines that Jesus Christ came to this world to die on the Cross for their sins. This is true. But it is in truth only a part of the real Gospel. The Gospel, rarely openly declared is the Kingdom of God. The average believer would add to his confession of faith by saying that because Jesus died for his sins, then he would after death go to Heaven to be with Jesus for eternity. If the primary emphasis of this book is the Kingdom, what it is like, what it means to be a member of God's Kingdom, then too I must needs address our eternal destiny, which will not be in some permanently spiritual body in some far-away heaven, but on a restored earth. In the second edition there are only minor additions to the text, and also an index od Scriptures
